The mission of the Board of Fire Commissioners of Buena Vista Township Fire District 1 (located within Atlantic County, New Jersey) is to support the operations of the Richland Volunteer Fire Company Number One, in order to provide fire suppression activities within the Fire District 1 boundary (Richland area) of Buena Vista Township, and other areas where called upon to assist. The Fire District was established by Buena Vista Township in 1924. This institution is an equal opportunity provider and employer. 

The Fire District 1 service territory is as follows: starting at the intersection of Harding Highway and State Highway 54, north on State Highway 54 to Friendship Avenue, north on Friendship Avenue to Weymouth Road, east on Weymouth Road to the Buena Vista Township boundary line, south along the Buena Vista Township boundary line to south of Landis Avenue, then along a line to Tuckahoe Road near Main Avenue, then north along Tuckahoe Road to the origin.

The Board of Fire Commissioners from March 2024 to March 2025 is composed of Chairman Andrew J. Levari III, Secretary Randall J. Knapp, Jr., Treasurer Linda M. Burshtin, Commissioner Andrew J. Levari Jr. and Commissioner Mary Ann Micheletti-Levari.  The Fire Commissioners may be contacted at the above address.  Please allow time for a reply, as the office is not regularly staffed.

The only attorney, advisor, consultant or other person, firm, business, partnership, corporation or other organization which received any remuneration of $17,500 or more during the preceding fiscal year for any service whatsoever rendered to the Fire District, is the United States Department of Agriculture - Rural Development.
